Denim with Exposed Zipper

Must our zippers always be at the back???....
...that was how this dress came to be. Made a dress with front exposed zippers, cut the front as two pieces adding 1" extra for the seam allowance. Cut the back on a fold removing the seam allowance provided.
Added basic embroidery with my machine to the pockets to give a bit of colour, and there you have it, a dress with front zippers. Only thing I would do differently next time is make my zip a little longer as its a bit of a squeeze getting in and out of this dress because of the short zip.

Hmmm... models in the making

S5284 Child's Trousers, Jacket, Jumper, Knit Top, Back-Pack Simplicity Pattern
Simplicity 5284
This is the dress pattern used for the denim dress. Dress is unlined with just black bias binding tape used for neck line and armhole. The denim fabric is thick so it behaved just fine.

Happy girls...
So there you have it, break the norm, make your dress how you want/like it.

Until you visit again,
Regards.
